Purpose of Job
Achieve the Milk Procurement Targets of the assigned catchment(s) through implementation of
Action Plans, active monitoring of various field level dynamics analyzing performance of support
field staff, supporting extension service based initiatives & providing feedback. Market intelligence
/ research, supply chain management etc., executing the sourcing plan and customer relationship
management.
Key Responsibility Areas
 Execution on Annual Action Plan for expanding milk procurement network by identifying &
activating new Milk Producer Group (MPGs)
 Ensure reach of services to maximum number of local dairy producers through active
enrolment & induction of farmers into MPGs
 Actively work on minimising cost quota by optimising the field level logistics, cold chain
based collections and improving milk volume
 Monitoring of Extension Service actives being implemented in the assigned catchment with
the help with NGO based support staff/ Veterinary Executives

 Ensure proper execution of Farmer Connect Programmes by driving awareness and better
practices in order to improve yields.
 Prepare Monthly Action Plan for the assignment catchment as per the targets set in Annual
Action plan
Interface with Internal / External Organisation
 .Interface with Partner NGOs
 Interface with all external stakeholders and vendors associated with the Dairy Business.
Performance analysis & feedback
 Should actively monitor the performance of the assigned catchment/ zone against the
parameters set in monthly/ annual plan – with capacity to understand the reason behind
deviations, if any, and suggest suitable corrective action
 Highlight various deviations in performance through active monitoring of performance
indicators vis-à-vis sanctioned plan figures, reasons for the gap, provide feedback on
performance improvement and follow up on the suggestions given for its improvement
Capability Building
 Provide real time field training to support staff, especially field supervisors, to ensure
proper execution of Action Plan and adherence to defined standards & practices
 Identify training need requirements of support staff and recommend it further
Reports & Documentation
 Ensure active capturing all Procurement & Costs related Data and Reports as required by
Business at MPG & BMC level and ensure communication/ submission of the samewithin
specified timelines.
Market Research / Intelligence
 Ensure proper tracking of competitor’s activities, including their market/ surplus share at
field level
 Actively monitor the prices/ schemes being provided by the competitors and, if required,
suggest changes in existing internal pricing mechanism/ structure to counter act the same
Procurement and Supply Chain Management
 Create and Maintain robust system of milk collection (through MPGs), quality assurance and
delivery plan in accordance with Business requirements and Annual Action Plan.
 Ensure that other costs of procurement such as inward transportation cost, BMC chilling
cost etc. are monitored with fixed periodicity and controlled to remain with the sanctioned
limits
 Ensure capturing of proper records, accounts of milk dispatched and received at
destination, transition losses, cost of transportation and chilling at BMC level.
Customer Relationship Management
 Should be capable of organising farmer meetings and handling large farmer gatherings to
promote various aspects of procurement services provided by the organisation
Should be capable of handling & addressing issues of farmers with keen interest in understanding
the root cause of the issue at handPersonal profiling
 3 to 7 years of experience in Milk Procurement and Dairy Industry in any reputed
organization.
 Strong knowledge of Dairy Business and Livestock Management – having in depth
knowledge on capacity building activities for village based institutions/ dairy farmers
 Willing to work in Rural environment and travel extensively
 Highly self-motivated and demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
 Demonstrated ability to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds.
 Basic written and verbal communication skills (with sufficient understanding of Hindi &
English language)
 Basic Computer skills – suitable proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel etc.

Profile Source
 Must have sufficient work experience with Reputed Dairy Companies and organisations like
AMUL, Nestle, Hutson, Mother Dairy, State level Dairy Cooperativesetc
 Preferably having graduation in Agri related subjects.
